Celebrating 20 Years of Our Children’s Awards

Back to Blogs

This year, our annual Wards Children’s Awards are back, and this year we are celebrating our 20th annual awards!

Since 2003, we have been hosting children and young people who face adversity, some extraordinary families and local charities for an afternoon of awards, a meal and entertainment, to recognise and celebrate their incredible achievements.

This year, we are celebrating our 20th annual awards with hosts MD of Wards, Aldo Sotgiu and special guest, Charlotte Hawkins from Good Morning Britain.

Over the years, we’ve hosted over 100 winners for a celebration of their achievements. From young carers to some truly incredible charities, we’ve shared some humbling and impactful stories.

In 2020, we awarded our Courageous Family Award to Aurora Pile-Gray and her parents Keisha and Ethan. Aurora was an incredibly brave, and bright young girl, however, before her award, she lost her battle with Burkitt’s Lymphoma in June 2020.

Last year, the award for Young Fundraiser was awarded to Evie and Tommy Ward, a young brother and sister who began fundraising after the loss of their little sister, Isobelle. Evie and Tommy have raised over £30,000 for Children with Cancer and Brian Tumour Research.

These are just a few of the humbling stories we have seen over the years, and this year, we are so excited to the stories of even more this year at awards this September.

We’ve hosted themes like the Wild Wild West, Hollywood Movies, Superheroes and even fairy tales and this year, we are celebrating our 20th anniversary with children’s books!

If you know of a child, young person, family or charity that you think is deserving of an award, nominate them here.
